The photographic project “Hearts of Istria” is documentary only at first glance – or, more precisely, deserves the adjective “documentary” exclusively at the personal level of the authors who conceived, shaped, and lived it.
Throughout millennia, the peninsula has been conquered and adopted by Illyrians, Celts, Romans, Franks, Croats, and many others. Despite their profound cultural differences, they all shared a common trait – fascination with Istria.
